Baltimore Hospital Workers Strike for Low-Paid Workers

April 16, 2014 | SOLIDARITY | Healthcare workers of 1199-SEIU United Workers East struck the Johns Hopkins Hospital for threes days last week. With over 2,000 workers in the unit, the picket line in front of the hospital’s main entrance had from 700 to 1,200 picketers during the day shift picket duty.

The Village of Washingtonville part time Police Officers ratifiied a successor contract, which was also recently passed by the Village Board. The four year agreement consisits of raises in each year of the contract, as well as language to enhance the equipment officers are provided. They will also recieve a differential for all hours worked in excess of eight within a twenty four hour period.

City of Ogdensburg Police Ratify Pact

UPSEU recently completed negotiations for one of our newest police member units. The City of Ogdensburg Police and the City have agreed to a three year contract after one session with a mediator. The contract consists of percentage raises for each year on the contract, as well as an additional stipend for training officers and detectives. Two years were added to the longevity schedule, as well.
